About Me
My journey in medical administration began with a deeply impactful experience: helping to establish a free medical clinic for the uninsured at a non-profit organization. This pivotal opportunity sparked a passion for connecting with providers, hospital systems, and the community, ultimately leading me to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Management from High Point University.
For over two decades, I've immersed myself in the dynamic world of healthcare, gaining extensive experience in various roles, including administrative assistant, patient finance, registration, front office staff, revenue cycle/insurance, and patient experience. Throughout my career, I've remained steadfast in my commitment to patient-centered care.
Transitioning into leadership, I further honed my skills by completing and receiving a certification in Healthcare Lean Sigma from the prestigious Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. This certification has been instrumental in developing my understanding of effective and efficient healthcare practice management.
While my career has been incredibly rewarding, I recognize that challenges are an inevitable part of growth. I've consistently embraced these "bumps in the road" as opportunities for learning and development, applying the lessons learned to enhance my contributions in each role.
Driven by a desire to expand my expertise and contribute to organizational excellence, I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Human Resources at the University of Maryland Global Campus. This academic pursuit will complement my extensive healthcare background, allowing me to further support and empower individuals within the healthcare sector and beyond. I am dedicated to continuing to make a positive impact on the industry, combining my experience in medical administration with my expanding knowledge of human resources.
